DC Public Schools is committed to helping all students find success in their pathway after high school.
DCPS Persists is a free program that provides college-bound DCPS graduates with a support network to help them succeed in college. Through this program, additional support is available for students as they take the next steps toward college and careers.
Nearly 80 percent of jobs in the District of Columbia require some form of postsecondary education. Our goal: raise the college graduation rate of DCPS students and set our students on a path for success.
DCPS Persists offers all college-bound graduates a pre-college orientation, connection to a network of DCPS graduates, and monthly information through a new alumni publication, Forever DCPS.
In addition, college-bound DCPS graduates can opt into working with a DCPS Persists Coach to help them navigate the transition to college and find out what academic, financial, and other resources are available on their college campus. Coaches will check in with students regularly throughout the first and second years of college and serve as an additional resource if students have questions or challenges.
Students in the Class of 2024 can now sign up for DCPS Persists. Contact the DCPS Persists team at dcps.persists@k12.dc.gov with any questions.
DCPS Persists is funded by the DC Public Education Fund through a generous investment from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation.
