DCPS Goes to College Month

May is DCPS Goes to College Month: a month-long series of events dedicated to equipping DCPS students with the knowledge and connections needed to prepare for college.

The entire month of May is packed with virtual and in-person events for students and families to learn about college opportunities.

Events are geared toward students in 9-11th grades and their families.

In-Person

Our In-Person Networking event is a DCPS tradition! Over 40+ colleges attend each year to meet DCPS students, make connections, and share valuable insight into their universities and application processes. The event is offered twice; students and one guest may choose one night to attend.

Virtual

Throughout May, students and families can attend virtual sessions to learn about the process of preparing for and applying to college. Topics include searching for and preparing for college, understanding how college majors connect to future careers, planning to thrive academically and socially in college, and financial aid.

For Counselors

DCPS High School Counselors, College & Career Coordinators, and NAF Directors, are invited to our annual Counselor Breakfast to connect with college admissions reps. Learn about admissions updates, scholarships, and what specific colleges look for in applicants to better support your students.

If interested in attending the Counselor Breakfast, contact Courtney Haddaway-Delph.
